Rupture Discs are sophisticated mechanical devices. In order to produce high quality rupture discs, a deep understanding of the theories of mechanical engineering and other related sciences is necessary for guiding the rupture disc design, manufacturing and applications. Unfortunately, not many high quality rupture discs have been produced for the industry so far, due to some misleading theories and practices that have been used to regulate rupture disc design and manufacturing.

1. Use of Statistics to guide and control rupture disc burst pressures in manufacturing, sampling, testing and applications.

2. Consideration of boundary conditions of rupture discs, including sealability, torqueability and the theory of thin shells (Membrane), in the process of rupture disc design, manufacturing and application.

3. Use of Huang’s Equation ( pronounced Hwang) to size rupture discs. Unlike the currently popular sizing methods, Huang's Equation can determine the sizes of rupture discs without the given Flow Rate into the vessel. Huang's Equation also takes into consideration the volume of pressure vessels, and other factors.

4. New processes of rupture disc manufacturing and new rupture disc and vent products by High Tech Pressure Safety. (patent  pending)
